A 24 year old man who stabbed his grandmother in the neck was killed by the community in Mountview - KZN this morning (Monday).

Yesterday (Sunday), Reaction Officers were called out to a property on Jackaranda Avenue at approximately 16:21. On arrival, Officers were informed that a male stabbed his 61 year old grandmother in the neck during an argument. It was alleged that he was demanding finance to purchase drugs. The female was hospitalised for her injuries.

The community apprehended the man this morning (Monday). They bound his hands & legs with rope. They beat him to death with sticks and whips.

The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Centre received a call from a member of the public at approximately 06:14. The caller informed the Controller On Duty that a mob consisting of approximately 50 people were assaulting the man. On arrival, it was established that he was fatally injured and demised prior to the arrival of First Responders.

The deceased allegedly had a history of violence towards his grandmother.
