An alleged robbery suspect suffered mob justice at the hands of an irate community in Montford, Chatsworth, earlier today and was handed over to Chatsworth SAPS for further processing.

The PT Alarms Chatsworth Tactical unit officer was patrolling in the Montford area when he spotted a group of people who had surrounded a male.

It was established that the male is one of three suspects involved in a shooting and alleged theft in the Chatsworth area, recently.

Community members recognized the suspect and pounced on him. The suspect allegedly confessed to the crime and pointed out his accomplices.

Chatsworth SAPS was informed and the suspect was handed over to police.
