Two (2) men were shot in an unprovoked attack on Station Road in Canelands - KZN yesterday afternoon (Friday).

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the scene at approximately 22:54. On arrival, it was established that a group of friends were consuming alcohol on the roadside. At least eight men approached them and fired shots in their direction.

The victims fled in different directions. A 36 year old male who was shot on his left shoulder and right leg collapsed. He was thereafter stabbed and robbed of his Samsung cellphone. His 30 year old friend was shot on his right foot. Both males were transported privately to a medical facility.

The motive for the attack is unknown.
